"Contrary to the belief of some, being prime minister of Canada has not been a burning ambition for me," McKenna told reporters at a news conference (today) in Washington.
Too bad really he could have made it an interesting race.
Why did he pull out?
Maybe it was because "...the French language continues to be a challenge for him."
Maybe he wasn't impressed with Martin's people, who according to some reports were ready to throw their weight behind him, and offer him their 'expertise' in leadership management.
Maybe when anonymous finally gets back to us SOMETIME TODAY, we can get the inside scoop and clear this up once and for all.
So long Frank. We never really knew you.

Or maybe just maybe Belinda's buying them off.
Cynical Me
Now now. Be nice.
What do you think of Gerard Kennedy?
I've been hearing a lot about this guy and think he could win a wide open race.
We think he pulls the party too far to the left which may play well in BC but not as well in Alberta maybe?...and can he draw in Quebec? Not likely.
He will bring in line Edmonton-Strathcona before any of the other non-Albertans. see

He is bilingual which cannot be the said of all the other non-bilingual contenders.
I can not remember of any former senior ministers, let alone leaders of the Liberal Party, prior to the recent turncoats Martin promoted, who were not bilingual.
Keep up the good work
